Horses running boys marching
History class
Blue and Grey
Young men

Some wounded some dying
Together they stand and fall
The unwillingness of great leaders
Mothers and daddies cry
In the deepest sadness crying

A machine a new invention
Tracks climbing over a hill
Boys yet men follow behind
Facing continues ratty tat tat
A tank boys facing machine gun

World war one the last
Men fall boys die
Bloody
Muddy
Horrible death by mustard gass

The war to end all war
Rockets scream
Fire burns
World War Two
England stands tall

The bull dog will speak
Citizens Grandma Papa children
Babies The pain the horror
Submarines seek

Rags iron metal
Young boys collect
For the war effort
Hide and seek
Boy cowboys gallant

The movie house a news reel
Hopalong Cassidy
Roy and Dale
Gene Autry
War is hell

Bodies tangled within barb wire
Wounded dead
Fear in faces
Charge
Hot cold scared tired

Desert sands snow three feet deep
Hitler
That bastard
Jewish six million dead
Millions more weep

Zeros fly
Diving faster down
Ships burn ships sink
Sailors die sailors burn
Soldiers cry boys die

A student learns
Young boys see
Dean Martin
Jerry Lewis
Movies twenty cents

Neighbor hood boys go
Never to be seen again
Chinese on mountain and hill
North Korea
Bitter cold

Take a hill
Lose a hill
Red snow
A dying whimper
Americas will

Let freedom live
Vietnam
Unseen fire
Napon
A naked child for all to see

Baby killers
Freedom rings in Canada
Jeered spit on
Soldiers
Every one hero's

Two planes crash
Heavy smoke
Terrified people jumping
Twin towers
Rubble and ash

Unknown to all
World War Three
Summer comes summer goes
Seasons change
Will America stand tall

Upon a black horse he rides
Satan's ugly face
Girls girls the horror of war
Young boys too
America with God we rise

The horrors of war imprinted in the memory, the anguish and the suffering, then the frustration at ......unwilling leaders......very powerful imagery .....upon a black horse he rides Satan's ugly face, and what will happen in the future..... will America stand tall? very strong impassioned write with the sensitivity to bring the suffering to the fore and the questions that continue in the face of war
