Absence

Contributed by JakerBaker88 on Thursday, 4th March 2010 @ 07:59:48 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Absence,
Does it make the heart grow fonder?
Or does it make it slow moving;
Pumping blood lazily through out the body?
My friends,
I find the later to be truer
For this distance between you and I,
Slowly kills me-----
Murdering every good and sweet thing about us.
Soon my darling,
Something shall give;
Yes, my most important organ will break
Shattering into a million tiny pieces,
Leaving me a walking corpse without a soul------
Flaying my insides with its shards.
Oh, dear!
Wouldn’t it be better if you simply showed mercy,
And freed me from this toxic dance?
Or couldn’t you just utter those three simple words,
“ I love you?”
No?
You won’t?
Because absence makes the heart grow fonder,
You say?
Is that it?
Silly misguided fool,
I find you beyond reproach
For this distance between you and I,
Poisons our Love which I tried so hard to grow----
Silencing forever every real and special moment between us.
Absence,
It doesn’t make the heart grow fonder,
Instead it tears that muscle apart;
Makes it useless to the body and to ourselves.

I like to think although maybe too idealistically that abscence does not alter the presence of love but maybe as we are very human this is not the case.The ideal in this poem maybe is expressed in the line...... i find you beyond reproach and maybe the reality is..... for this distance between you and I.thoughtful write

Absent or present it will always be complicated because each individual is complicated. Always growing and always changing, people. I really enjoyed this. Well thought out and a different look at things.
