I never got to tell you...

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I got to know you at age four,
You had become a friend,
Day after day you came over,
Again and again.

We would play until it was dark,
Until we were tired and colder,
We continued to stay friends,
Even as we got older.

We would go swimming in summer,
And fishing in the spring.
We would picnic in the park,
And play by the swing.

Our laughter could be heard for miles,
Maybe even longer,
Your loss in my life has hurt,
But hopefully it makes me stronger.

One time I tried to tattoo your name,
On my middle finger,
I thought it would release the pain,
So it couldn't linger.

I wanted to keep you close,
But yet you are so far away,
For two years I cried for you,
Every single day.

I never told you i loved you,
I never got to see,
If what i told you was perfect,
And that you also loved me.

I will never drink and drive,
I will never be dumb,
Because i don't want to pass on,
The pain of being numb.

I still go to your grave,
Those flowers are from me,
I will never give up on you,
Even if your presence is unseen.

I have your picture by my computer,
When you were about eight,
But I can't help but think,
My love confession was too late.

I hope you love me Mike,
Because I will always love you,
And I will keep your picture here,
Until I die someday too.

Very sad but beautifully written.
I'm sure Mike is looking over you speaking luv to your heart.
Awesome, One can feel the care coming from deep in your soul.
Luv, huggs, blessings,
emy

This is an excellent poem. It moves along nicely and paints a picture of life with your friend. Good stuff.
