shattered cities

Contributed by Blue on Friday, 11th April 2003 @ 09:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

his face is white as if some ill
had drained the color of his face
the dead, black eyes invoke a chill
when speaking of his deadly tastes
although his face is not so striking,
his eyes arrest and hold in place
speaking of his thwarted likings
all the things he's laid to waste

his eyes are black; you cannot tell
where pupil, iris blend together
they tell the story of his hell
his heart dried out and gone forever
no love lies inside this soul
just shattered cities laid to waste
all that is evil makes him whole
resting in his pale white face

i am not evil though i find
my soul gets lost inside his eyes
perhaps we are two of a kind
good and evil not combined
perhaps i see inside his eyes
what i myself could never be
perhaps he is surprised to find
a side of his dead soul in me
