Love and War

A battle rages in loving hearts,
A feud which some elude,
yet lovers fall victim
and kept by hate become subdued,
The forgotten kisses
rush by like crimson arrows
Arrogant shields fortify,
yet hearts take damage
swift is such tainted brutality,
the flames soon vanish
and civilization crumbles into dark,
A primitive war unfolds
like a cruel knife
dancing upon death's core
Love sleeps dormant
beneath the rocks of war.

I love this! great imagery.
there is quite a fine line
between love and hate,
and hate is quite related
to war! great job |
