[bodytext] => Brittle leaf floats on flexible wind and soft as the shadow of a moth eyelids fading over blue emerald eyes dull iris near sleep and groan in the belly. Condescending, held like porcelain pottery, in a blank white shadow-less room, near midnight. Crescent moon and starry night in cloudless sky. Ritual feeding finished, I take this baby in fatherhood's arms to carry him up and into the dark room where my wife is sleeping. I touch rounded globe of his cheek as gentle as descending autumn leaf he unfolds, curls into softness. Sighs.
