Humboldt County Airlines

Topic: HumorPoetry

Ladies and gentlemen,
This is Captain Flip Heinz,
Welcoming you aboard Flight 07,
On Humboldt County Airlines,
With connecting flights,
To San Juan Hill and Amityville,
We're happy that you found it wise,
To fly the sparrow of the skies,
We hope to make our destination before night,
Because we have no landing lights,
At Humboldt, we're no frills,
We wish we could give you more,
But we bought this airplane,
From the Bolivian Army Air Corps,
We apologize that security regulations now include,
That you make the entire flight in the nude,
We'll be cruising not too high,
And not too low,
Just wherever the trade winds blow,
But unless we hit a powerful wind shear,
You'll be able to see your house from here,
Hostess Helen will pass out Judith Krantz books,
And some Christmas fruitcake that she took,
Ladies and gentlemen,
We're winding our engines up to maxi,
Now we'll see if this thing will taxi.

Ladies and gentlemen,
This is Flip Heinz coming in,
Again,
We're down to just one engine,
But have no fear,
We have a third gear,
It's just that,
You won't be able,
To see your house from here.
