Array ( [sid] => 15729 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Sweetheart...what did you do today? [time] => 2003-04-10 23:05:00 [hometext] => This poem i wrote for my friend who committed suicide. I put it in first person as if it were her talking. The poem is a typical run down of a conversation her and her mother would have. Please comment! I want some feedback from it..... Thanx - Jo [bodytext] => Mom's dellusional
dysfunctional
She doesn't know me or what i do everyday.
But one day My mom will ask me...
"Sweeheart, what did you do today?"
I'll reply
"Well, I slit my wrists today."
But she'll slumber off, becoming sound asleep.
She'll pick me up from school at 2:30 but i can never count on it cuz she is always late.
Its quiet for a moment or two...
"Honey, what did you do today?"
Once again, I reply
"Hmmmm, I slit my wrists today."
But her eyes wander over the windshield not once looking at me...but at a nearby head on collision.
I call home saying i'm staying at a friends house...
"I dont care" she replies and hangs up the phone.
underneath my breath i mumble
"By the way, I slit my wrists today."
I'm in my bed....ready to let myself go.
I can see a new world clearly now.
Mom will notice (if she is up) that Im not up.
It might take her awhile.
But soon she'll open my door
And noice
I slit my wrists today.
