It is better to turn around
I think I have smeared the holy ashes
Upon my body, after burning
The sandal wood pieces of my words
In the fire of consciousness for so long,
I have also smeared the dust of earth
On my chest and head for so long -
I could go now, but why must I.
~*~
Now, I stand on the bank of a lotus lake
At the night time, I hear the moon calling:
Come over to me lord, come over at once,
I will bathe your body with nectar and
Cool down your mind in my sweet embrace -
I could go now, but why must I.
~*~
Now, I stand in a beautiful garden
At the noon time, I hear the Sun calling:
Come here darling, come here at once,
This is our home, I am your lovely Queen,
Why do you stay on the earth for so long-
I could go now, but why must I.
~*~
Now, I stand near a burning ground
In the twilight hour, the logs of a funeral pyre
beacon: come over, your soul is a great flame
You can merge in the flames of fire, come over-
I could go now, but why must I.
~*~
I must hold this Mother Earth
In my strong arms and wipe out her tears.
The taste of her herb and honey still remains
On my tongue; She is such a beloved mother
Always she feeds me with nectar of poetry.
~*~
Yes, I'd leave, though, not just now,
Not at this inconvenient hour-
Just my self when I go away I'll take all your
Sweet and loving memories with me
As they are my happy treasures!
~*~^~*~
