[bodytext] => Now Dona Rose Marie was serving beans.
Her style was great this night with beef and wine. On table rested a large plate of greens, all garnished nicely seen for supper dine. Casa de Hernandez was typical Spanish architecture - single story adobe construction, red tile roof, central courtyard with fountain. Blue and green mosaic bird patterns graced fountain's masonry, pattern flowing onto four walkways spoking to side colonnades. From cloisters one entered all rooms: east side was living room, dining room, and kitchen; south side, library and three bedrooms; west side was given to carpentry shop and tallow dip; north side, three bedrooms and sewing room. Servants lived beyond the eight foot high, matching wooden double gates' west wall. Family and guests this evening sat eating and talking at a long rectangular mahogany table in the dining room. Table was set with faience and silver on damask; candles were necessary, hour was late.
