Array ( [sid] => 156746 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Debris [time] => 2010-01-17 05:35:04 [hometext] => an extended nature metaphor for the more ephemeral and mysterious love had, lost and longed for... [bodytext] => I loved her in the season of her days;
time was, the warmth of her smile
outlasted her chill disposition,
and the flowering of her mind overlaid
the autumnal solitudes.

earthy, yes - feet of clay but
layered to richness. solid ground
bordered by treacherous sinkholes,
needing a map to know where to stand:
then the upheavals, and all was new again.

she rained
on my dream,
froze me out;
whipped me raw with scorn.
and when her desert encroached
I begged for cooling shade.

but she was more moon than sun,
and the trajectory of her phases
cast equal shadow and light,
till it was all so predictable.
I matched her transit until
other bodies stole my attention
but I miss that deeper pull,
the one that makes you, One.

I was surprised that nobody had reviewed this poem yet. It's simply beautiful. The imagery as well as the emotion that comes through is brilliant. Truly a remarkable piece here. My favorite line, "other bodies stole my attention but I miss that deeper pull, the one that makes you, One."
