Fingers interlaced, embraced
Upon a bed of burning linen
We rest unforgiving
Stained in regret
Fevered and wet
The dreams we chased have somehow gone astray
And the words we never got to say...
Bare the force of storm raging out of control
Still I ask that I have this dance with you
In between the raindrops as they fall heavy in our souls
Move with me to the symphony of our own tragedy
In a smoke filled room
I'd give anything to breathe my last breath with you
To hold your flesh against my heart until the love bleeds through
And as the days grow colder
My arms struggle to reach you
To have you exist within my embrace
Because you and I have drifted a million miles away
Just to end up in the same lonely place
Held in a state of suspended grace
Our love shakes the foundation of forever
And wether the seams of our lives keep us unraveled or bound together
Know that I alone have loved you enough for a thousand lifetimes
Know that my heart has never stopped crying
And if I live another day without you...may I never be forgiven
May my broken be consumed by the fire
Alone upon a bed of burning linen.

Hi

We all love to write on this site. Some of us
believe we can go further than YPDC, others
among us are just happy to share our intimate
thoughts, in the form of verse, with other
aspirants. Then every so often there appear
lines of prose that would grace the pages of
poetry written by the immortals. This poem has
a few ...... particularly ..... ''Know that I alone
have loved you enough for a thousand lifetimes.''

Beautiful piece of poetry. Well done!

Tommy
