Array ( [sid] => 156385 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The words ending in ation poem [time] => 2009-12-31 10:10:26 [hometext] => This poem does not yet have a proper title but is about the experience of overcoming writer's block by composing a poem containing 72 words ending in 'ation.' All the greats did it - Keats, Byron, Wordsworth, Craig David... [bodytext] => Education throughout the nation
Stopping domination and discrimination
Smoking crack in a petrol station
Chased away by a big Alsatian
Cross pollination, racial integration
The force of 101 Dalmatians

And when I say Dalmatians I mean the dogs; not Croatians
Well you know, those from a specific location

I searched so hard for inspiration
In each and every cloud formation
But this brought no illumination
So I looked among the vegetation
Despite all of my exploration
Nothing in the way of stimulation
The starvation of my imagination
Led to an uncomfortable sensation
It began with mild perspiration
A feeling of general agitation
A powerful sense of dehydration
In my heart I felt the palpitations
I began to lose coordination
And here is my quotation
With one or two abbreviations
“OMG I hope I don’t need an operation.” Lol

The knowledge of my limitations
Gave me very bad vibrations
I had to regain concentration
So I took a moment’s hesitation

This is really no exaggeration
I was sure that soon would come my alienation
From the entire population
In fact the whole of civilisation
Absolute humiliation
I’d be out of social circulation
I’d receive no invitations
There’d be no cause for celebration
I’d even have to buy a playstation
And practice hibernation

But the restoration of my motivation
Came through sheer determination
And more specifically the indentification
That rotation rhymes with demonstration
Relation rhymes with ventilation
Flotation, radiation, exhaltation and retaliation
The indication was that through my dedication
I’d finally reached my destination

Will this be a revelation?
Or will this harm my reputation
The desperation of my situation
Led to this absurd creation
My total lack of organisation
Left little time for preparation
So I ask for your consideration
When making your evaluation

For this to reach its culmination
Here’s some random exclamations
In the natural history museum there used to be an earthquake simulation
Buddhists believe in reincarnation
Kanye West’s second album is named ‘Late Registration’
I’m doing a couple of sponsored events next year
Hey, why don’t you all make a donation?

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
