While bathing in the moonlight.
Looking at a Single White Rose.
I drift away to a place.
Of splendid pleasure and love.
I see his face in the mirror.
Smiling back at me.
As I close my eyes.
It all becomes as real as his touch.

The day was beautiful and perfect.
The sky was as blue as the loveliest sapphire.
As we embrace each other tightly.
We look at the sky.
And we both dream of the love that we share.

It’s been a year since then.
And everyday, every hour, every second.
I spend dreaming of him and I
Together in bliss forever.

And then for months ago we kissed.
The sparks flew, our gum mixed.
And our hearts were locked
Together for always from then on.

But now then we lay in the tall grass.
Our kisses were more passionate.
As or love surrounds our bodies.

As the sun turns into the moon.
The warm misty air brings us closer together.

We kiss for the longest time.
As my dreams come true.
We start to undress each other.
And I bring his lips to mine.
And we kiss.

As our bare bodies met, you whisper to me.
“Will You Marry Me? I love You.”
I reply shocked and half crying from happiness.
“Yes, I love you too!”
And that first night lasted the longest ever.
But now it’s the present.
And that white rose that you gave me.
Is in a glass showcase so it wouldn’t die.
Like you did on that horrible desolate night last month.

The snow was falling soft.
The roads were ice covered.
And not knowing that at the top of the hill.
Was a strip of black ice.

He sped up to let the tires grip.
But the car gained to much power.
Turned sideways and spun six times.
I was thrown from the car three yards away.
While he screamed my name.
And the car tumbled down a cliff.

I screamed his name back.
But my screams were mixed with the breaking of glass.
And now the blood curdling screams of him.
That still haunt me to this day.

And as the car hits the bottom.
It explodes into a furnace of fire
And…I see him burn.

So helpless was I
Standing at the top 550 feet above him.
Not able to do anything but scream and cry.

As I look around the scene
That single White Rose lays
By the black ice that killed my true love.

I now to this day visit that hill.
That cliff that now has a row of White Rose bushes
Planted at the spot where he went over.

And as I look up at the mirror.
I think and say while looking at his face.
“Why you? I loved you so much! Why not me?
But I will always love you! And when I die;
We will be together in splendid pleasure…
Just like that first night together.”

And like he was satisfied with my reply.
His face disappears
And I lay my head down.
As a drip of a tear
Drops down from that single White Rose’s last petal.

This was a wonderful poem...I am sorry if you really had to go through such a loss...I lost my friend and my enemy in a terrible car accident so if you did go through this I understand where you are coming from..:)

This poem has made it on to the least read poems of this section, but I think it's due to the length. Length in a poem is not bad at all, but it seems to drive readers away. This is a good composition.. and the feelings expressed are done so in a manner that leaves little room for wonder, which is excellent. I hope more people take a moment to read this poem and other longer poems here at YPDC.
