Fear envelopes my face.

Like a clear force
Depriving my lungs of their air
Pushing my guts
Weighing me down

I think of my childhood
I hold it as comfort, inside me

For a moment, the terror subsides
Warmth is again within reach

But only a moment
The comforting feeling subsides
And the wave of dispassion
And fear
And of doubt
Takes hold of my soul once again

My legs move more slowly
I dream of the past
I hope for the future

And the moment is lost
To never return
Killed by the agony of fear

Lost and confused is this child
Not a dream, not a nightmare
Not even a fear

It’s all real
It’s all real [comments] => 2 [counter] => 230 [topic] => 36 [informant] => matteo [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

Yes. Objective reality is a nightmare that I share. Many strive to loosen its hold upon us but the learning curve to escape is longer than the years we have programmed for us. One day (it could be tommorrow) we will have it all.
