for these are more than words, I am revealing all of me.
I'm lost in this world trying to share everything I know,
paint the image for you, but still I'm on my own.
Everything that is simple you've made so complicated,
I didn't even write poetry, but now I'm just so frustrated.
Words and rhymes give moments but then they just pass,
so I write another piece hoping it will explain the last.
I started with an introduction, holding your interest tight,
but you thought I was a poet and smiled upon my sight.
I'm not a poet, I don't even know what the word means,
I'm not confused or angry, my words aren't just dreams.
I'm just me, I'm just here writing because I want to,
5 months ago I picked up a pen, and now look what I can do.
Anything sounds beautiful when it's simply just the truth,
and to add that extra bit, I've even added a rhyme or two.
But I'm not a poet, never was, never even could be,
i'm just a crazy girl, giving you definitions to everything I see.
I am the one who holds my life in my hands,
and because I believe, that is why I can.
i'm not a poet, i have no given talent,
see I can't even ryhme the last line to end this poem. That's the beauty of YPDC what you submit is your poetry. What I submit is my poetry. So carry on, The worst that can happen is nobody reads it so what harm can it do.
If any of mine don't get ten or more reads I ask Mick tto delete them.

Confession time.....I am not a poet either. Oh yes I have a knack for rhyme but my failing is I can only do one or two serious "proper poems" every few weeks the rest is mostly to put a smile on readers faces.

Sometimes it's better to write your last line
(the punch line) first and work back from it.
What I do with rhymes is let's say you want to rhyme with "thought"....I take it through the alphabet........... a-ought........b-ought.......c-aught.....d-ought.......e-ought........f-ought (fr-aught) .....g-ought.......get the idea? You'll get a few rhymes every time. It doesn't take a genius to think of that ,you probably do it already. But I get much more satisfaction when It rhymes.

A couple of mine with better than average construction are

"Praying can't change the rules "(last on the list)
and
"Jonathan Pioneer Penguin" oh and yes
"Try counting sheep"(spoof poem)
