The heart in the most precious faceted gem
I cast a shadow on your facets when I attempted to reflect from all of them
It took the words of someone that I did not know
To make clear in which direction I needed to go

Realizing that your heart is not fully mine
I was waiting for a different type of sign
To keep you close so from me you do not run
I must pinpoint my attention from all the facets to only one

This is what you are willing to share with me
This is where the connection for us is to be
The other facets are for others to shine and reflect
This is how it is to be and your wishes I will respect

Facets of the Heart

The heart in the most precious faceted gem
I cast a shadow on your facets when I attempted to reflect from all of them

I really like the way you analyzed feelings of the heart within a poetic setting.

I love this. It speaks volumes of truth in only a few stanzas. Love means giving space to someone when they need it. It is hard when one is in true love though. Great poem!
