Chipped away and battered
By guys who had always thought
That I simply didn't matter,
I had started to chip away
At my own inner-beauty
Until HE walked up to me,
Whistled, and said "Hey Cutie!"
I blushed and turned bright red
Oh my head was turning,
Then he asked me for my number
And I knew my face was burning.
He called me right after work
And set up our first date
We were a perfect match...
If someone could just relate
To the healing balm
That stretched across my soul,
Those words he whispered
That somehow made me whole.
Even though time
Has caused us to drift away,
I still remember "Hey Cutie..."
Like it was yesterday.

I love this one, so upbeat and uplifting.

He's a bit more forward than I, then.
It sounds like you had fun.

Good write.
