She woke up, rolled over
And wanted pancakes.
And ‘lo, there were pancakes,
With hot chocolate,
A throw blanket for her feet,
And her laptop.

The router broke down, so
She pouted, and pointed
And ‘lo, the router was reset,
Her connection made stable by a cable
That wasn’t there before.

And as the sun slid
Under the rooftops,
And the cold set in outside,
“Dinner,” she said,

And ‘lo,

A piping hot dish
Journeyed through the frigid cold
Appeared, whence she could dine
After one more row of her knitting.

But the meal was too spicy,
And needed juice, to cool her tongue
So, "Juice," she uttered,
And ‘lo, a glass of juice
Set upon the coffee table
Waiting on her whim.

And when she was done,
Away the dirty dishes, away the trash,
Away the leftover pancakes went.

And a “Thank You” would have been Nice.

Hello my old friend.

I see your pen still produces writings that cause the mind to work overtime in order to gather all the meanings and inuendoes of your words. Never let that change.

It's good to find a poetic nugget in all the fodder I find on the ypdc home page these days.

Barkeep!! a pint for my friend
