your brown eyes overflow with enigmatic pain.
A darkness casts silhouettes of sadness on the wall;
your smile has transformed into a frown.
Dark thoughts travel in your mind and chase away happy memories;
your laughter has morphed to angry yells.
Your room once bright with joy, is now a dark, lonely cave;
I used to see love in your soul; now a shadow blocks its glow.
You used to look into my eyes and share a thought;
now you hide in your hood and shut me out.
You view the world through a pitch-black lens;
I wish the sun would burn away the darkness. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 233 [topic] => 32 [informant] => lesoleilnoire [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

I'm sorry to hear this, I can relate to both you and him it seems. Unfortunately I have no words of wisdom to help, as I am seeking my own answers even still, I offer condolensces and praise for a well written poem. As always I hope everything works out and gets better.

Heidi, I am so sorry to hear about this. I really do hope that the sun burns away the darkness.

My Dad died when I was eight years old and I would estimate I was angry about that for over twenty years. I do not say that to make you feel worse or better. I can't make you feel better. Wish I could. But perhaps finding the reason he's like this may bring about some positive results and start him on a road to being happy again. Don't know, I am obviously no psychologist or an expert. Just know I wish the best for you and your family.

Oh, and the poem is very emotional and very well written. It brought tears to my eyes. I respect the fact that you can still write well within such a difficult time.

Take care...really...take care,

Tim

sometimes just being there is the only thing you can do and is the one thing he needs you to do. I'm sure this poem will help alot of parents.
