“Who do people think is the greatest, a person who is served or one who serves? Isn't it the one who is served? But I have been with you as a servant.” Luke 22:27, CEV

Dear Lord,
You are my King and Servant, Creator and Redeemer, and Precious Friend.
How awesome You are!

You, who carved out the mountain peaks with Your powerful finger,
gently pressed adorable dimples into sweet, baby cheeks.

Those same gentle hands took a towel, knelt before His proud, arguing disciples and washed
their dusty, calloused feet.

The King of Kings and Lord of Lords not only hugged children
to His breast in warm embraces,
but hung suspended between heaven and earth to save
a dying world…of people like me.

Oh Lord, humble me, forgive me, save me.
I have harbored secret blame.
I was knocked to the floor by tragic news of excruciating loss.
And after months upon months of weeping in Your patient, loving
arms, how could I still blame You?

The God who formed my first parent out of dust
and then blew His majestic breath in that perfect form to fill up Adam’s lungs,
still humbled Himself and took my doubt to the cross with Him
and nailed it there.

I don’t want it back…ever.
Like Peter, Lord, I need You to not only wash my feet,
but my hands and head…and my heart. John 13:8-9, NIV, paraphrased

Thank You for remembering that I am made of dust.
Thank You for a daily scrubbing to wash some of that dust off.
Thank You for restoring my son to me…soon, very soon.
No more dirt naps.
And no more doubt and shame.

All glory goes to You, My Savior, the One who is worthy of all praise.
By Your mighty power and grace, death to the enemy;
death to doubt.
