Wondering if you're ever thinking of me
But considering the time I saw you last
The truth has finally come to pass
You heard from a friend who heard from a friend
That I was crazy about you and it would never end
That same exact friend said to me then
I now must change who I am

I responded that it was something for which I wouldn't stand
But I would perfect myself the best I can
While thinking of how I'd win you over
I realized I would need more luck than a four leaf clover

But surely you must understand
Physical traits fade quickly such as looks and glam
It's the inner person who wins someone's heart

Everyday its you I see
Wondering if you're ever thinking of me
But considering the time I saw you last
The truth has finally come to pass
You heard from a friend who heard from a friend
That I was crazy about you and it would never end
That same exact friend said to me then
I now must change who I am

I responded that it was something for which I wouldn't stand
But I would perfect myself the best I can
While thinking of how I'd win you over
