"FT. HOOD'S LOVING MEMORIES"

PRAY TELL DEAR GOD FOR WHAT?

Youth so vital, energetic, venerable,
fall to monstrous angry guns.
But
For What? For What?
Pray Tell Dear God Above
For What?

~!~?~!~

Why must man love his wars?
our youth so doomed......
Youth groomed, just starting
their lives......entombed.
But
For What? For What?
Pray tell Dear God Above
For What?

~!~?~!~

A mother gives birth, first glance,
instant and endearing,
A son so special, two hearts
bonding.......
Hers bleeding, buried his
endless yearning......
But
For What? For What?
Pray tell Dear God Above
For What?

~!~?~!~

A father loses his son, stays brave
with admiration,
Reality not accepted, his
feelings deaden
But
For What? For What"
Pray Tell Dear God Above
For what?

~!~?~!~

Years of worry, years of dreams
nourishing........
Sacrifices, hard work, coated
with care and loving.......
But
For What? For what?
Pray Tell Dear God
For What?

~!~?~!~

Giving their lives freely,
without question.....
Ages pass, honorably buried,
names forgotten,
But
For What? For What?
Pray Tell Dear God
For What?

~!~?~!~

"We make war that we may live in peace."
Author: Aristides ("The Just")

"Precious lives lost Dear God
What a Waste Dear God
For What?"

Words to Taps
(Note: there are no "official"
words to Taps
below are the most popular.)

Day is done,
gone the sun,
From the hills,
from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well,
safely rest,
God is nigh.
Go to sleep,
peaceful sleep,
May the soldier
or sailor,
God keep.
On the land
or the deep,
Safe in sleep.

Love, good night,
Must thou go,
When the day,
And the night
Need thee so?
All is well.
Speedeth all
To their rest.

Fades the light;
And afar
Goeth day,
And the stars
Shineth bright,
Fare thee well;
Day has gone,
Night is on.

Thanks and praise,
For our days,
'Neath the sun,
Neath the stars,
'Neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is nigh.

but....

For What?

Dear God

For What?

~!~?~!~

*sigh* I wish I had the answer, Consue. Really wish I did but I know this... I wish I could print poems off like this and the like and hand them to my aggravated customers when they're angry about waiting too long in lines or they got two tiny packages of instant mashed potato bags mixed with their cold stuff. What, they think they've got it bad? Maybe they should quit their petty griping and worry about the real problems of the world. Well done, dear.

Tim

My son was stationed at Ft. Hood back in the 90s. You'd be surprized at some of the things that don't hit the National news.
Great tribute.
Huggs, luv, blessings,
yobrat

For what? is what we are all asking at the same time never questioning the bravery and the loyalty of a soldier in doing his duty and cannot imagine the pain as a mother. Beautiful tribute
