before his flesh is stripped from bone
before he lets her take his pride
under love’s guise, by his side
The bleeding heart will bleed dry
the lover will hear the final goodbye
nothing good comes from being a S.N.A.G.
just the abuse of being a rag

No, a man needs to find his own
build strong that private home
a fortified strong-hold to save his soul
or self-respect may pay the toll
sacrificed to a demi-god love
empty promises to lift above
to a wonderful Shakespearian escape
can’t you see; it’s all a mistake!

Dear man, look after your being
the truth of her is not what you’re seeing
she is just a person like you or I
and just as able to create a lie.

Building your own life as a person before taking the risk of relationships with others a very wise poem and I love the warning."the truth of her is not what you're seeing."

Hi,

I like this. And at the risk of appearing sexist,
mainly because it's from a man's perspective,
indicating that vulnerability can also be part
of the 'male' psyche.

Touching and well versed!

Tommy
