[bodytext] => Hark! The darkness willows there; A winnowing of failing light. To breathe a rapture in my ear Would break the silence of the night. I found myself within a wood, Surrounded by a nocturne ire, Walking from the place I stood, In search of freedom from this mire. A boggy mist encircled me, While shine, fair Luna did. I found myself within a sea Where spirits of the forest hid. And soon the whisp'ring of my wake grew louder 'till a voice I heard Among the misty vapor lake Distilled to mortal word. From out the dark a figure came With presence of a mystic glow. He stood with light and feathered fame That all the woodland creatures know. 'Twas nigh but sprite of forest dim In form of clear and mortal man, Who came to share a message grim And warn of lively wan. The warning that be brought to I was one of om'nous, ghastly gloom. A warning that my heart would die If forward torn I court my doom. So from that night among the shade When out the dark I heard a voice, I've lived my life with equal trade And levied scales of choice.
