Mommy when I close my eyes.
Through your eyes I see hope.
One more day of chemo therapy I must endure.
Through your eyes I feel no pain.
One more day we don’t take for granted.
Through your eyes I see life so precious.
One more day you get to hold me.
Through your eyes I have no fear
One more day of restless sleep.
Through your eyes, I have faith.
One more day to get prepared.
Through your eyes I see peace.
One more day to watch you smile.
Through your eyes, I feel at ease
One more day before I close my eyes.
Through your eyes. I take the journey
One more day...today I close my eyes
Mommy Through your eyes…I live.

As soon as I started reading this, I had to actually wait for a little bit and then come back. Freaking incredible tear jerker.

I reminded me of a day I took my sister in for radiation treatments (which for her were a big damn waste of time) and this little boy, of course with no hair, was crying and screaming he did not want to go in there. Why, why, why, and all that. Well, I saw him once again. He still looked unhealthy but a lot happier. He came speeding through on one of those little tykes three wheelers. He was racing all over the place...that little guy. Never saw him after that...and I wonder. I can only hope that the results of his cancer were not the same as my sister's.

I still sometimes wonder if this "is" hell...especially with the things that happen to some people...especially children and the elderly....and if not hell...then I wonder if at least it could be purgatory.

Awesome job!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!

I have tears too, yes this is one of the saddest things to watch..... I mirror everything Tim said, makes me also wonder.
Why should we fear hell?

Hugs

Hi,

Powerful!!

Often the 'cure' is worse than the pain.
I've seen the results of this on a loved one.
But when the 'cure' fails ...... that's the ultimate pain.

Every day's a blessing and a chance for us to
give life meaning - and we do this for those who
never had that opportunity.

Well written - says it all in its simplicity.

Tommy

oh bin, you've really wrestled with the ultimate pain in this one. And
yes, it is devastatingly sad. Like a dagger straight through the
heart and soul. What is with all the suffering? I'm in a silent disbelief.
I reiterate all that's been said here. To say we live in discontent
would be the understatement of the century.

You've captured one of the most painful experiences a mother could
ever go through. And you've done it with amazing heart. Kudos, poet.

my mom has been undergoing chemo for a while, and i totally empathize with u on this heartfelt poem. everyday i'm on the edge becuz her time mite come any second, and i hate it... nobody should ever experience this kind of stress/agony that cancer brings to the patients and their loved ones. i hope your condition improves greatly, as i can see it happening with my mom thankfully.

take care

-K.Z.

Wow friend,
I have a sister and her son is going thru kemo now. He's 40 but still it's heart wrenching no matter the age.
I don't know if this is something you've went thru or going thru either way you tell it so well.
My mom took one kemo and didn't go back for more. I had an uncle that went thru kemo and the kemo killed him.
It's realy sad no matter who, where, when.
huggs, blessings,
emy

Bin~

It's a really beautifully heart-breaking piece.

I'm with Timmers...I had to walk away for
a moment, because it hits far too close
to home. Still, I will carry the hope and the
comfort, now that the tears have been vented.

It's a brave and lovely work. Thank you
for sharing it.

Be well,
~dawn

Bin~

You have left me with many emotions
Sad doesn't begin to describe this
Yes it is very painful to watch
It is also painful to be the one sick
Terrified of what the next day brings
Terrified of how many next days you have
Yet trying to be brave for your loved ones
Praying each decision made is correct
I have played so many roles in this
You penned the turmoil so well

Hugs and love to you, my friend
Kara
