birthday joys
and laughter
I hear them through
the window
up the drive
I brought you tulips
get it
tu lips
yours or mine
a room full
of family and husbands
couldn't afford
a back bedroom grope
so I wait
as always
telling you
she'll never be
as beautiful
as you
distracting you to make you feel good
endearing you to me
she's striking
you're mysterious
I still
wait for you....
