STILL STUNNED!

"He that endures to the end........
is one that will be saved."
Your favorite scripture carved
in stone
Constant reminder, I must endure
I must go on alone!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When did this take place? How long
ago? Did this really happen to me?
An unbelieving heart, I'm still stunned!
Hopelessness sharpened, heart deadened!
I must reach out, his stone is cold.
Your goodness, tenderness, loving kindness
withhold.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A young man buried here,
38 years ago.........I was only 33
A bad dream? Unreal? Years will
erase the tears? I'm still so stunned,
I can't cry, this is pure cruelty!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So long ago I told you'd I'd be
brave, and endure.
I buried my heart with yours, secure,
Years have not lessened the pain
it happened just yesterday.......
I must leave now and try to live without
you all over again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The warm and heartfelt love I felt for
him 38 years ago will always remain,

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"With what a deep devotedness of woe
I wept thy absence - o'er and o'er again
Thinking of thee, still thee, till thought grew pain,
And memory, like a drop that, night and day
Falls cold and ceaseless, wore my heart away!"
~~Thomas Moore~
ConSue,
Such devotion, such love.
I am sure he still feels it.
A heartfelt tribute.
