He's far away, it's a four hour drive

I make you feel pretty, and help your brain thrive

He's eager but meager, and quiet and prim

I sync to your being, and every last whim

Our concert is growing, and as they look on

You try and ignore the conclusion foregone

We grapple and wrestle, and don't say what is

Living in our hearts, and not within his

It wakes me and holds me, and won't let me go

Though we've never said it, the each of us know

That take it or leave it, that something is there

So I pray you realize, although we're both scared

That if we keep going, at this sluggish pace

Neither of us will know love's true embrace

I liked this it has a beat to it that moves the reader right along.

The end line kind of sad though......
