Fly, little birdie, on your thrice broken wings
- up far into the sky -
soar above the cloying air, aiming for the stars
point straight to the brightest to pierce
the midnight cloak that is worn by the night

Flee now, the poison flock that holds you fast
- forge a more true path -
one that reflects the hope of the future
not the punishments of the past
(both yours...and theirs)

Find a perch, a place of your own, to breathe, to rest
- wake to sing praises -
to a sunrise not yet bloomed, in an indigo sky
call to Glory, without doubt or resraint and be heard
by the majesty of your Maker and Life

And though there will be storms, fraught with
bitter winds and dark days, filled with rain
- be soaked and shiver-
knowing each day, the sun will rise
where Faith and Love will be your strength

Be brave, little birdie, against these crushing odds
always steadfast, unto Him and yourself
- the gift that you are -
know that you are cherished for your journey,
despite the wounds you bear.
Spread your wings...
and fly

I am pretty damn sure I know this lil birdie and she deserves nothing but the best. She is one of the best birdies...friends that one could ever have.

I have loved your poetry way back to whenever I discovered it and here lies no exception. Love the message, the metaphor on life, plight of the "birdie"
cool dude, and the imagery ah...lovely lovely in its entirety.

Luff,

Timmers

Sweetie, this is so inspirational and just beautiful in its message.
There is bravery in even placing pen to paper, but to know that
there are brighter days, that the sun is waiting to shine a new and
more wonderful light into our lives proves that in the heart of this
piece lives hope. And hope is what makes life bearable.

You always have such a beautiful and unmistakably hopeful view
on life and what will be. It breathes inspiration and light into
hearts of those who have lost faith. Wonderful post.

*love and hugs*

miss you ~

~ Breezy

Very powerful and inspirational. We all hope through the pain that we have the strength to reach for the stars again.
This piece reminds me of some lyrics from The Gravity of Love;

"In the eye of storm you'll see a lonely dove
The experience of survival is the key
To the gravity of love."

Awesome write!

There is a certain power and majesty in your words, paralleling that of the bird rising into the sky.
Beautiful and inspiring.
May you continue to find the words to express yourself as wonderfully as this

Steve

My dear Loende, you've been so beautifully kind in reading my work, I thought to chance a read from your page. And I'm very glad that I have opened this. I have read it now a few times and it feels wonderfully hopeful. The second stanza speaks so deeply to my very own soul. Exceptional advice and such a giving heart. This is so very uplifting. The warmth encircles each heart who chances upon it.

Take care,

Seléne ~

To borrow an expression from our friend Tim; "holy ****fire!" This is visually and metaphorically stunning!!!
I have re-read this three times already. Exceptional piece of work, my Bird Whisperer pal. ;)
