is this how it feels?
This detachment from all,
Things once held dear?
Feeling lost, used,
Each day caring less,
For things once important?
Arising each morn without,
Goals, or excitement ?
If this is dying,
it is a cruel death.
Dying by inches,
Less interest each day with my world.
I thought I would follow him,
Be a disciple of Dylan’s.
Raging against the dying
Of the light. But no,
Doomed am I, to go gently.
Once a warrior, a sailor,
A lover, a husband,
A father, a teacher,
A protector, a friend.
That is now all gone
Children with no time,
Wife with no interest,
Life with no purpose,
Death by detachment.
Required only to give,
And give and give.
Not allowed to lead my life,
Kept to strictures designed by others.
Compromise, banking of fires,
Forbidden opinions.
That is my life.
I understand him now,
I know why George Sanders . [comments] => 2 [counter] => 186 [topic] => 32 [informant] => gmcse8 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

Sounds like a cliche out of an old western, but
sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do!
Re-invent himself! More or less had to do that
following separation and divorce 12 years ago.
Just something to think about.

Good luck.

wow, liking yourself to george sanders who left because he
was bored tells me so much, were i in your shoes i would
do things for myself- you know the saying, 'please everybody
nobody's pleased- please myself at least i'm pleased' ...read,
paint, plant a garden, go to movies, start wearing jeans again
or do something that makes you feel good again, something
you like and believe in doing, the rest will fall in line, ...hell, blast
dylan throughout the house whilst reading and writing poetry-
that would do it for me, and keep writing you have a beautiful talent,

hugs n' love nessa
