[time] => 2009-09-18 14:48:52 [hometext] => While taking a bus journey I though I would try and write a little poem.I never realised just how hard it would be !! [bodytext] => My writing, which at the best of times is barely legible
Takes on its own persona, that of hyperactive spider
Or so it would appear to casual observation.
Capital P, like a parking sign scaled disproportionate
Against the rest of the sentence, meandering as the travelled terrain.
Guidelines of a notebook become as music stave
Some words leap skywards, others entombed below.
Should my last moments be on this shaky mode of transport
Everything now scribed would be lost in translation.
Man made winding road cuts through carpet hillside
As unexpected jolt pushes pen right through the paper.
With tick tock regularity flow of thought is interrupted
Minds tap turned off and on to the whim of tarmac road.
Once more we pitch into the valley, brakes shake the windows
Disrupting creative flow as we travel, slave to brakes on snake road.
Is this an E or A I see before me, U or V will I recall?
Freshly laid asphalt appears to be the cause of my dyslexia.
The words of a hymn spring to mind, I will not cease from mental fight
My pen will not sleep in my hand, this to me is my Jerusalem.
Rumbling through this green and pleasant if slightly blurry land
This bus and I stage our battle of wolls, correction battle of wills.
As we climb mountainside, one thing is certain
Missing among the list of tasks to do tomorrow will be
Writing poetry on a bus !!!

Very cool! I have the same problem, at times,
but from writing too fast. (I can't blame it on anything esle.) Can't
even read it later, which may or may not add to creativity?? Anyway good job! elle :)

Knowing you, your handwriting is better than mine is on a flat surface like a desk ;) but very creative and enjoyable imagery! Good show.

This is very good, a somewhat everyday event turned into a humorous story for all to enjoy and relate too. Easy to understand yet complex enough to be brilliant. A mature write, very talented, well done.
