All around the world i've been
and seen some wonderous sights,
from Budapest to Stalingrad
i've seen some great delights,
but never have i seen a sight
that means that much to me,
as the sight of Sydney Harbour
as we sail in from the sea.

Through the outer heads we sail
and cruise in to the bay,
where city lights and harbour bridge
are part of the display,
the opera house, with sails set
illuminates the night,
and like a jewel atops a crown
it's such an awesome sight.

The sounds of all the citys life
floats across the bay,
and greets me like a long lost friend
returned from far away,
and like a friend, so badly missed
who's been away too long,
it bids me welcome home once more
to the place where i belong.

No, there's nowhere in the world i've been
that means as much to me,
as the sight of Sydney Harbour
when i've been away at sea,
and there's no place in the world i've seen
that brings such joy and wonder,
and always will i come home to
this land they call 'down under'.
