Poker is a game of cards that any fool can play
it doesn't take a maths degree to join in to the fray.
You're dealt two cards on which to bet and these are now your hand
on these two card you'll now decide to fold or make your stand.
A round of bets begins ~ you choose to bet and play
or fold your hand and save your cash and fight another day.
Then three more cards are dealt face-up ~ this they call 'the flop'
it's here that you decide your fate ~ to call, or raise, or drop.
A round of bets begins once more ~ the 'turn' card is revealed
you now have four cards 'on the felt', and two cards still concealed
The 'river' card is last to fall ~ it's here you're saved or drowned
and once again, to see who wins ~ one final betting round.
Depending how you played your cards - and on a thing called 'luck'
you're now still either in the game, or you're now one dead duck.
So if you think you've got the skills to give this game a try
sit down, relax, but be prepared ~ to kiss your butt goodbye!

The clearest instructions for Texas Hold em that I've ever read, and a pleasure of a poem to boot!
