The snow is hanging on to Wyoming,
at least in the ranges.
Santa Monica basks in glorious rays
and Oregon cycles through
rain and sun and hail
but the Rockies mimic Christmas;
white flurries of cold intent,
icy mischief underfoot.

Arms are getting sunburnt in New Mexico;
even San Francisco has lifted its veil
—but the Cloud Peak Skyway
glistens in white drifts
as it quietly steal your heat,
and Yellowstone looks like a postcard.

Spring is, well, somewhere;
but not at 5,000 feet
not even three
but elsewhere, waiting for the thaw
to say… welcome. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 297 [topic] => 30 [informant] => spike [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 23 [ratings] => 6 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => PoemsonBeauty )

Poetic magnificence once again. Down-to-earth magic, always beautifully formed.

Wow I have to say i was taken aback at the quality of this piece!! Winter and snow and everything to do wiht it always inspires me more then most things!! and i love to read winter poetry and this just engulfed me with the sheer beauty of the season!!

this is a great poem, and your imagery is top notch, conjuring up brilliant sentences and pictures with a whole lot of personality!! ahh the cloudy skyway!!

that was a great line and one of many, seriously this took me there for sure and thats all i look for in poetry, great imagery and a skillful effort taht sucks me in and wont let go till the end!!!

chillingly well done!!
