[hometext] =>
[bodytext] => The first three lines a revised quote from the Bard of Avon’s Macbeth. Inspired by the lines the words would not settle until they were written. The bell invites me. For it is a knell That summons thee to heaven, or to hell. Fear of the tone seems obscene But the tone Seems to strike and I always seem alone Summon me to hell By the knell of the bell On a string of chain Around my neck May seemed deranged But I keep the bell there When I hear that tone That god awful drone My blood runs cold I try to silence the bell by keeping it in my hold But even in my hand The bell rings to me the damned Summon thee to heaven or to hell Darkness upon me has fallen Heaven is not a place for me A place where all is happy Let me fall into darkness so I may see In the light of my eyes what is wrong with me The bell invites me For it is a knell Summons thee to heaven or to hell The tone I hear when alone, Will become the light to pierce the darkness And enlighten me [comments] => 1 [counter] => 188 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Voice of the Silent [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
