Concretecowgirl a mere whisper
in the rain, lost along the highways or byways
a ghost floating, unseen and unheard.
Big red Pete just a fading memory
of a time when big tires turned
and left her mark on the world.
Black ribbons fading in the distance
a train whistle's lonely cry
and another fond farewell
goodbye open road goodbye.
It is the death of the legacy
the times no more.
A mourning time of a life made before.
They are ghost truckers now
fading, fading away.....
The CB is silent, the motor has stopped........
