What will you remember of me
(when I am dust & gone)?
My tearful journey?
My struggle at love?
Will you think you knew me (best)?
Did you feel the way I missed you
whenever you weren't near?
Too much to even speak aloud. . .
My pain was like a thorn (so deep)
my skin grew over it
to mask the hurt. . .
No hope
amid the colours of wishfulness
& stray attempts
at normalcy
(or something even close).
Jagged edge of sanity
like holding onto shattered glass
your words have raked
my mind a thousand times over.
& in your tone
some truth rang out
as to my insensitivities. . .
How could I?
Why did I?
What, oh, what was I thinking?
You were so small.
Your infancy
made me scared & brave
at the same time. . .
Hoping that I knew
all the things that I did not. . .
I have drowned in my attempt
to be. . .
yet you have loved me. . . still.

there is no doubt of your talent
it's powerful-- you just have some form and shape up issues.
where were you hiding?
