dead-human,
you return to the same silence -

after my rebirth in arms that have forgotten my warmth,
in arms whose contours I cannot place with anything
that is love, that is

unwoman.

heartless womb,
you offer no smiling god -

no resurrecting flame to devour the child you did not embrace,
to perfect the worm you graced with decayed waters,
that lifeless milk, your love-poison.

Perhaps I should have never fallen into your sternum

your hands were wings that day,
and for a moment, the child did not scream,
the larvae was more than just liquid forming
into something wing-less

I felt the throb of freedom between shoulders and spine

I felt the presence of that lost creature, the one that could only love

You held me as mother, instead of absence

and I hate that I died in that transient light,

in the illusion that perhaps this time
you'd hold me forever

God, anger, pain!!! I can feel it. The ol' saying this tugs at the heart strings is insufficient. You write with such power, that saying would be revised to this rips the heart strings out; throws them down to the hot asphalt while pummeling them to a red squishy blob.

Wow! Amazing! Tragic, emotional, powerful and gripping. I especially liked this bit:

your hands were wings that day,
and for a moment, the child did not scream,
the larvae was more than just liquid forming
into something wing-less

Keep up the good work!

And again you leave me 'almost' speechless. You talent is something to envy, if I were a spiteful person. But as I am not I just wish I had your words...
