It's been a long while since I was happy about any of my writing. It's not forced, it just seems that way and please read more than the first 3 lines. [bodytext] =>

I want to know.
where do dreams go
when they die?

Do they fly with the tears that have dried?
With the sunsets we've missed
and the end of the dawn,
with the last notes of that song,
we can't recall anymore.

~

Do they live with the memories,
that have faded from our lives,
with the prayers and the wishes,
with the breaths and the sighs,

at the start of the rainbow
or at the end of the stars?
Do dreams go to heaven
with the ones that have passed?

~

Do dreams go to somewhere,
where perhaps they might come true?
Will hope and faith guide them
and lead them, from me, to you?

Don't make the mistake of living
broken down and broken hearted
Your heart is all you may ever have
after dreams have all departed.

I hope they don't feel like they've died,
that this pain is only mine

and my dreams will float upon the skies

find a better place

to lie.

This is awesome! I love the suggestions you offered as possible outlets (for want of a better word) for these dreams...
This poem leaves me pondering now...
Good write

This was an excellent write. I have only one correction. This pain is not yours alone but shared by far too many. Keep up the writing.

do not berate your work
it is the treasure of your heart
and now mine,
the first half soared
but then i think it was alittle to
defined
each one there own dream guides
economize,condense,distill
but never berate such beauty.

Hi,
I cannot see for the life of me why you consider your poetic attempts 'awful'.
After reading this one it prompted me to
read more of your work. You have a great
gift that captures precisely the emotions
and turbulences within your soul - and by
listening to that soul, you have shared
with us what can only be described, as
poetic works of art - and I don't say that
lightly.

Do not ..... I repeat ..... Do not, put
yourself down!

I look forward to your next ''awful''
attempt.

Tommy

You're expecting a vindictive comment here right? An 'I'll get you back for your criticism' comment. Nah. That would just be childish. It would also be dishonest because this is actually rather good. It flows quite well and the imagery is profound. God knows why I'm on this site, it's more trouble than it's worth. However, your poetry graces it.

It's tough when reality settles in. Lifes a BEEP! lol
But I love this. Got the wheels in my head turning and that is what a truly wonderful work of art will do. I just want to read this over and over again.
I find new things each time I read it :)

Haha, I just noticed you did what I tried and failed to do with my last poem, "A Candy Cane Chaos"! You aligned it to the left! I am ok with html, better then most I have to say...but I must have done something wrong. So please message me and let me know what I may have done wrong.

Please&ThankYou!

I love the path you have led us. I, too have wondered where dreams go.
We may not see them as they float from view, but trust me, some dreams do come true.
