Array ( [sid] => 152122 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Ol' Glory [time] => 2009-08-09 23:09:35 [hometext] => Let the truth be told....... baby thank you for all your support. I just hit 14 years serving my country.......The Phantom [bodytext] => Its 02:30 in the morning and the phone starts ringing,
"Roger that, I understand," says a sleeply man,
He gets up and begins gathering his stuff,
His wife awakes and heads down to the kitchen to fix him a hot plate,

No words are exchanged, the thoughts are there but the words can’t escape,
This is not the first time, than the silent’s is broke
“Are you going to be alright?”
She replies with,” You be careful, I’ll be fine,”

Within a few hours they would part
Separated not by choice, but with heavy hearts
He boards that big gray plane
With a goodbye kiss and a wave, he flies away,

Beyond the darken skies and the tears in his eyes,
Rest a wounded man, heartbroken with a pen in hand,
A mask so cold, with a story so old,
Love gained, and love lost,
Like a stagnate swamp with trees covered in moss,

Unwilling to face a day that's new, only dwelling on thoughts of you,
Remembering a kiss, forgotten amongst the morning mist,
A lonely soul drowning in doubt, so broken hearted unable to shout,
So goes the old story, man loves woman; but leaves to defend Ol' Gory.

Forever Faithful
The Phantom

This brought a few tears to my eyes.
Yes I would say you have found a rare love.
Many miltary marriages do not survive, because of the distance all the time. So yea you have a gal there! We often also forget about the wives of our soldiers too, I have the deepest respect for them as well.

Beautiful write my friend!

Hugs
Michelle
