We travel through this valley of wars.
You and your diamonds and me and my scars.
Hard to keep an open mind to a world so unkind.
Radiates so much hate that I'm starting to go blind.
I put you on a pedestal high above the stench.
I used to be on one too, but I don't know where it went.
You made of your roses and me of quicksand.
Sinking so fast now. I can't even stand.
Swallowed up in darkness.
You took all of the light!
You walk in the sun.
And I, in the night.

It was a fine effort.
Your thoughts are well-expressed; one can certainly ponder your words for some time!
Peace
