I follow those who don't follow. It's conformity for the non conformist.

I like every band you like. I like every movie you like.

I am outgoing, as long as I'm with friends.

I have a brilliant mind, but a stupid mouth.

I am a writer, but when I put the pen to paper every idea dries up.

I am a singer, but I'm out with a cold.

I am a musician, but all my strings have broken.

I am an actress, but I can't find the stage.

I am about as exciting as lint.

I left my home to try and become what everyone thinks I should be.

I ran, ran in the rain, ran across the plains, I ran...

I reached the end of the Earth, where the oceans empty out into eternity and the abyss.

When I got there I peered into the abyss, it isn't black, nor is it empty.

It is deep, wonderfully deep, and colorful, though not bright.

But if you peer long enough into the blackness you see woven into the very fabric of eternity colors.

Colors swaying and weaving creating with their threads music.

The resounding music awoke something I had lost.

My soul, my very own.

Finally my eyes were opened.

I realised I am nothing.

I am not a writer or a singer, a musician or an actress.

I realised I hate everything you like.

I realised I have no name, no identity, no expectations to meet.

I am free.

Free to be everything I am, free to be happy with being nothing.

Again I ran, I ran back, back to you, back home.

Like a child I yearned to share my discovery with you.

I hoped to bring you back with me, so that you too, could be free.

When I returned, I found you.

I told you all about my discovery, but you did not hear.

I stood in your path, you walked through me.

I sat at your table, you did not see me.

At the end of the world, I felt free, I felt alive.

I would have never risked being alive if I knew life meant seperation from the living. Interesting write. . .

"My soul, my very own."

I especially like the twist at the end.
"I stood in your path, you walked through me.
I sat at your table, you did not see me. . . "
peace :) elle

This may well be your finest work. In fact, it could almost have been written about me.
