You aren’t here, this magic so easily takes your place.
Clinging to me, like the scent of your dangerous skin.
Flesh raises, reaching – to you.
Or what could be you, could be anyone. It just had to be you.

Wrong sides of those leaves, the parts nobody sees.
The things I thought I’d never let another soul witness.
Tears mingle with the rain, the wind stealing my hair as I let it fall.
Only to let those drips, those drops -
Weigh it down to normalcy, conformity.

It crashes down all over this town;
Igniting the sky, sunlight for a second -
Moving the earth, then grumbles a reply.
Colors you never knew, the sort of light you swore
You’d never find in darkness.

Tired of the mess, I don’t have to feel like this.
Like jumping into a pool, I sprint to meet the rain -
If I just inch my way in, I’ll never be able to submerge myself.
Unsteady rhythm sounds so loud, but feels so light.
Just cold enough to be that rush, and make me feel alive.
Slow lazy drizzle, takes it’s time to meet me here.

Fast to meet the ground, grass clings to my feet.
Screaming lightning and forceful thunder is just the kind of violence I need.
Instead of washing away everything I hoped to lose –
These raindrops, they only linger on me.
I can’t stop the tears, falling faster than these sprinkles now.

I just don’t know, how to ever let this go.

This is marvellous writing. You have an innate poetic ability, demonstrated by the perfect execution of your sentences. Everything blends together. All the images, all the words, everything. It's proper poetry.
