Letter To Mary-Jane

Contributed by daylynn_van_wyk on Tuesday, 28th July 2009 @ 08:36:16 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Mary-Jane; the angel nesting in my dreams,
The dream catcher to my soul,
and i struggle to see days where you, I can fearlessly hold.

My powers are fading without you near,
loosing grip to climb over these walls of emotion,
and i'm unable to spin a web to cling to devotion.

I'm caught in my own web,
the same web spun for villanous thoughts,
thoughts against my joyful heart,
for it's you i've adored from my heroic start.

I battle the world's evil for bright futures,
dodging the worlds weapons through epic days,
and my heart exposed to such savagery slowy decays.

I am lost behind the facade which is spiderman,
yet it's a part of me i fail to escape,
afraid of an enemies revenge returning late.

Hatred lingers for villans keeping us apart,
They have perfected misery,
providing you tears with their formidable art.

With great power comes great resposibilty,
The words trap me behind this costume,
and my reality now fades into the adventures of a cartoon...

So i now swing through the city,
The breeze comforts my restless soul,
which impatiently awaits autherisation,
to cross the border and escape infactuation.

I close my eyes locking tears inside,
reminicing of The Parker i used to be,
A nerd seeking your smile through day,
whether friendly or a romantic cliche'.

So I now remove my spidey mask,
greeting this nerdy reflextion of me,
abandoning ideas of us,
and setting a unpredictable future free.

So I write you Mary-Jane this letter,
saying for us to remain friends i didn't plan,
but remember my feelings for you are ageless,
living in the halls of Never Never Land.

As I've thought a poem talking about spiderman's lover. I think very written, spite some rythm breaks. The rime is good and the content, a very usual theme used as an unusual concept (as taken by Comic Books).

Congratulations,

Leandro Monteiro
