beneath clouds of beautiful stars;
upon the red planet he calls home, and we call mars.

He gazes up wishing on a star,
hoping for days his love may never be far.

He sees her face amongst the stars,
even though she's light years away,
her love is infinite, never fading as time slips into a new day.

He watches as meteors shower the earth below
and memories of her start to play.
Two martians once trapped in a zone;
pretending to be human, falsely calling earth a home.

Yet, around many his ways were alien,
but to her they were far from strange,
and his love provided her courage to turn to life's next page.

The dawn of sunlight soon creeps in,
and steals him from his dreams,
awakening in lonely sadness his heart silently screams.

His heart is much like a star,
and without her near it's approaching supernova;
ending in a black hole where no soul may recover.

He starts his space ship gearing up for flight,
to escape the sun's heat into the blackness of a spacey night,
blasting through the wonders of the Milky Way,
travelling to a galaxy millions of light years away.

Hate and revenge dwell within his heart,
hate and revenge for humans keeping their love apart,
they have now stolen and taken his love away,
pinned down, helpless to the shouts laser guns spray.

The stars soon rush by,
but time begins to move slowly,
every sad memory begins to echo,
and the sounds of colliding tears mimic sorrow.

The space ship soon begins to drift,
his soul now lays peacefully across the dark spacey skies,
harmony arises and he opens his eyes.

He feels her tears upon his cheek,
the source to his great escape,
once lost, now found by loves gift of faith.

He holds her tight for she is unaware,
that reality is much a dream,
compared to his vision of a futuristic nightmare.
.
In his spaceship they lay,
distracted by clouds of beautiful stars,
away from earthly danger,
safe upon their home planet mars.

You had the imagination working in this poem. I love it. It made me smile while reading and picturing it all.

Have a good night
Michelle
