A lonely girl, who had lost before, soon heard a knock on her door once more.
Let him in, she didn’t at first, but he stole her heart with one quick burst
He had his purpose and he had his reason, to commit to her the perfect treason.
He was lost as was she; he waited for vulnerability then knocked her to her knees.
Believe it not did she, that the pain she discovered was aimed to squeeze.
Squeeze the warmness from her heart; make her feel her soul had been torn apart.
Her heart and body now stone cold, he wonders at her funeral why she looks so old.
It’s only been one year, no time to age; under her dress he can see her ribcage.
The cause of death? A blade to the wrist, malnutrition... really too much to list.
He never thought he could cause this; slowly he balls up his fists.
He now understands why she looks so old, he robbed her of her innocence truth be told.
The real cause of death? He knows it now… a broken heart that needed to be found.
He stole from her, her last breath, and life without him literally scared her to death.

Nice piece of writing. Good description used. I am sorry if you experienced a person so cold who gave you a broken heart. Life does get better and never give up! You will find someone worthy of your heart. Again, great write!
