“She needs to grow up! She has no life and deserves nothing!”

It goes on and on, pounding their harmful words into my ears.

I hear his angry footsteps coming up the stairs, his heavy breathing in my ears.

More criticism. More hatred words. More pounding angriness.

I sneak silent as a ticking clock into my bedroom as he does his final huff and
slams the door behind him.

Thoughts speak louder then words.

TICK TOCK. TICK TOCK.

The ticking of the clock seems louder as their furious words ring though my
ears.

Silent tears ring down my cheeks like raindrops into a puddle of shock.

TICK TOCK. TICK TOCK.

These tears of shock turn into tears of anger.

TICK TOCK TICK TOCK.

The ticking gets faster and faster, ticking in my ears…

TICKTOCKTICKTOCKTICKTOCK….

Until the words of hatred are back again.

TICK………TOCK……..TICK………

This is a technically superb piece of writing. It gathers pace with every line and contains some well-constructed metaphors, in particular:

'Silent tears ring down my cheeks like raindrops into a puddle of shock.'

it's a real 'poet's poem'. 5/5.
