I nod as some ridiculous duty
Puts me to almost sleep
But I am neither brave nor rich
And cannot tell my coworkers or superiors
Go to hell.
I plod on
Unhappy
But joyous for living
And unable to stop
Because really it's not all that bad
Sitting
Staring
Waiting for something to happen.
When it does happen
I hope I am awake to see.

Your poem speaks to the many people who dread work daily. I am lucky I love my job. Not too many people can say that.
Great write!
