[title] => Becoming My Mother
[time] => 2009-07-15 21:36:05
[hometext] => There is the classic saying that girls become their mothers; well, I normally say that would be an honor, but since I married and have had children of my own, my mom rejects me coldly. This is about the pain from this.
[bodytext] => I look at my mother and see her face. I know no one can take her place. We used to listen to records and dance; now, together, we sit in a distant trance. I used to cry when she went away; now her coldness brings dismay. I surprise her with flowers just because; now she treats me like annoying, clingy fuzz. I came over to visit and chat; your treated me like a pesty gnat. You say my kids are too wild; maybe you forget what it's like to be a child. Time is ticking and I have to admit; becoming my mother doesn't matter a bit. A mother does push their children away for years; I will always wipe away my children's tears.
